Hey all,
I wanted to thank everyone for the Happy Birthdays and give a quick update as to what I've been up to for the last month and a half. After completing my Zavok pumpkin stencil for Halloween (of which I'll post a photo of soon), I sorta decided to take on some personal projects. During the month of October, and even a little before that, I started to suffer from depression. For a while I was considering seeing a doctor but thankfully it went away and I didn't have to see him about any medication. Still, it got me to thinking about some things and I decided I'd try and take up some sculpting. I really enjoyed sculpting the few Sonic figures I have posted on here and I was really bummed when I never got to take the sculpting class at the Art Institute. I feel really happy when I'm playing with clay but have never really pursued it because I didn't know what I'd do with all the finished projects. Then it dawned on me: Christmas was coming up. I'd sculpt gifts for my grandparents and my Aunt since they like collecting little figures have space in their homes to display them. So after Halloween I went to work on the gifts. Every day off I got from work I'd spend sculpting one of the figures or painting them. Once they were complete I took several pictures of them (which I'll post here on DA). I have to say I really enjoy sculpting and think I may continue it for a while so don't be surprised if suddenly I post up a ton of photos. My husband suggested I try and sell my work and I think I may consider it once I get more practice. If I do I'll likely sell on Etsy and will post images of the sculpts here on DA.

Switching gears a bit this year has been a good one but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm starting to get excited for what lies ahead. During my birthday celebration I was able to get in contact with an old high school friend of mine who's looking into moving out of her house. She's interested in living up in Oregon City with us (my husband, roommates and I) and we figured, heck, why not have her as a roommate? Thing is we'd have to move out seeing as our place would be too small. So we're looking into getting a house . It'll be quite an adventure since none of us have ever shopped for houses before. Thankfully we have family who can help us out. Best thing is the timing works well since she'll be looking for a place to say around the end of February and our lease expires April. My husband and I are gonna chat with a lender tomorrow so with any luck we may have a move to plan for.
Thanks all for the Happy Birthdays
Well the year's almost out and I fear I haven't really done to much with this page. While I still like Sonic I haven't really been drawing him or any of his posse much these days. I've mostly been working on fantasy art and sculpts some of which I have photos of on my other page here ~GobLynns-Den (https://www.deviantart.com/goblynns-den) . I also went back to college this year so that ate up much of my time. Though I will likely come back to this page from time to time art is likely not going to submitted very often.
That said, I was curious if there was anything in particular folks would like to see from me this coming year. For example, does anyone want to see more art of Am
New Account, whole new genre
If you can't guess by the title there I've started a new account on DA. I've done this because I've taken up sculpting and am looking to start an Etsy shop. The genre, however, is fantasy, and thus I don't feel the Deviations fit the rest of my gallery here. So I've decided to keep the two accounts separate. Rally-the-Cheetah will be used to upload anime and Sonic-related images and my other account will have photos of my sculptures.
For those that are into sculptures of the Fey then you can find me here ~GobLynns-Den (https://www.deviantart.com/goblynns-den). I don't have really anything there yet but should soon have several photos up later this week.
So, there's a ton of Sonic news going around huh?
I'll come out and say it right now: I'm liking what I'm seeing of Sonic BOOM. Yeah the change in character designs took some getting used to but seeing the clean models at E3 I feel I like them much better now. The alpha stage ones were, well, a little ugly.
This said, I notice the comments and hype for Sonic BOOM is a real mixed bag and range anywhere from people loving it to seeing it as blasphemous. Oddly enough I'm not bothered by this, in fact I find myself delighted by it. It's strange really, at first I thought I felt this way because the fact that such a strong argument even exists shows Sonic is still popular and loved by many peopl
Update: DA dilemma
Hello all, =)
It's been a while since I last wrote something here so I figured I'd make a quickie update as to what's been going on. Lately I've run into a little bit a an dilemma here at DA: I'm torn between what art people want to see from me and what art I actually enjoy making. If you check my gallery you'll notice I make some little figurines I made a while back. I had great fun making those but, as I sorta expected, no one really took any notice of them because, well, sculpture is not what I'm known for. For years I've been a Sonic the Hedgehog fan and so my gallery is pretty much expected to be nothing but images related to the franch
