Description
At long last I've completed it, a Sonic sculpture! Oddly enough the head of this figure is the oldest thing there. I made it sometime back in High School then sorta neglected it. 's recent deviations, however, reminded me of him and the promise I made to complete him. So I got to work and painted the already complete head then started making the body. Oh what fun that was.... I had to put wires in his arms and legs to get him to stand like that. Plus there's a wire rod connecting his head to his body. The head is actually a separate piece that can be put on the wire and thus his head is turnable (as you can see in the first two images there). The shoes and hands were the toughest part... took at least an hour just for them . Then when it was finally all fired up I got to paint him.... More fun! Those shoes.... Oh the fun I had with those... Anyways it's all over now and I have to say I'm pleased with the results. The head turning is a cool feature and the removable sunglasses are also real nifty. I plan to make his board next and that's actually sorta the reason his hand's out like that.
All in all this took about a day to make. I have no idea anymore how long I worked on the head but I'm guessing at least 2 hours. Then painting it I know was about another two or so. I started working on the body the next day and sculpted from about 1:00 PM - 6:30PM. Then he was baked and I painted him from about 10:20 PM - 2:20 AM. Then, at around 1 PM or 2 I gave him his photo shoot. I put the pictures together in Photoshop and walla, Sonic Sculpture deviation.
