Let the games begin! by Rally-the-Cheetah Let the games begin! by Rally-the-Cheetah
Dear sweet Lord, this image is scarred into my retina!

Hi all, in case you've been wondering where I've been for the last month well this here pretty much sums it all up =P . So, where to start... Well, when I saw the DA notice for this contest I figured I'd enter for the hell of it. I'm a fan of Diablo 3 so to get a chance like this and make a huge image that looks epic and I can hang on my wall sounded real appealing. After playing around with several ideas I came to this layout. Originally I was going to have all the classes in this image but time constraints as well as my own artistic limitations prevented me from putting them in there.

Inspiration for this piece came mostly from the 2D style cutscenes from the game as well as art from the Diablo III art book and the Book of Cain.  The three characters you see here are actually my characters from the game. If you couldn't guess by her obviously higher LVL gear, I play my wizard the most. The text in the background, if read, is supposed to be a journal entry made by my Wizard character Kismet, and is a summary of what was shown in the opening cutscene from the Reaper of Souls.

Finally I'd like to give a big thanks to both :iconsenshistock: and :iconlalunatique: who provided the awesome stock poses =D . I noticed later that the rules state that no stock images can be used but seeing as I just used the images as pose reference I think I should be okay. If not, it's no big deal, I just mostly wanted to do this for fun and practice my skills.   :aww:
